Catching up on a Monday in April...

It's been nearly 2 weeks since my last post. It's not that I was doing anything especially interesting and hence the delay...just that I got a bit lazy.

Actually, the world has been a pretty busy place these past few days. Pope John Paul II died on Saturday, 2nd of April and was buried the following friday. The day after the burial, Prince Charles of Britain married his long-term mistress (ugh!). Prince Rainier of Monaco died. All very high profile.

Plus, Tony Blair announced that the UK's general election will be on May 5th - Labour are ahead in the polls but only marginally. Do I give a crap? No, not really. But it'll be interesting to the see the backlash regarding the Gulf War Part Deux from the voting public.

On the 1st of April I fell. I was walking rapidly down a wet ramp when one leg shot out in front of me and I landed on my right knee. Que major swelling, bruising and a large area of missing skin. Even now, almost a week and a half later, it's bruised and the skin is slowly coming back on, but is cracked and dry. Even walking for a long period of time is very sore. The one thing that annoys me about injuring your knee, apart from the fact that you lose mobility, is the fact that no bandage will stay put. I tried sock bandages and normal bandages wrapped in figure eight formations...all keep falling down. So I'm walking about with no proper support. *sigh* E45 lotion helps with the dry skin and Arnica helps with the bruising. I can't do the 'rest' thing...I hate being tied down, especially on the weekend.

The other major news is that I booked our flights to Dubrovnik, Croatia. We're flying out on the 26th of May...I can't wait!!!! All accounts and photos paint Dubrovnik to be an absolutely stunning place. Hopefully the knee will have fully healed by then. Apparently there's LOTS of steps!!!

And I finally got my hands on Finding Neverland (such a gorgeous movie) and Shaolin Soccer (very, very funny movie). And I watched LOTR: Return of the King Extended Edition (plus the appendices), The Name of the Rose, and Lost in Translation.

Plus I found a dead rat near the garage door and I've named him Fluffy. I must take a few more photos...the flies have attacked him. Hopefully he's showing more signs of decay.

And my house has millions of spiders. That's 4 in the past week..plus the enormous one out front when I was putting stuff in the bin last night...ugh!

Sin é...I can't think of anything else to add...besides my restless nights...I keep hearing rustling. Could be the wind, could be the spiders coming to get me or apparently (according to some) it could be spirits. Well, either way, I'd better get a good night's sleep soon or I'm going to go crazy. Or maybe, that's the cunning plan...
